sala4D and the consultant team were commissioned in August 2020 to prepare a masterplan including photomontages, prioritised schedule of works and cost estimates to guide the management and development of Council assets over the next five to ten years.
Working with the community of Molong through an Inquiry by Design consultation process, a series of evening events and pop-up day events were conducted. These community conversations establish key values and guiding principles of design which underpin the masterplan proposals.
Key improvements to the main street include: planting of street trees to the centre of Bank Street; creating laneway linkages between the main street and recreation ground; and creating social nodes with seats and ornamental trees in pots with fairy lights where the community feel they can gather and socialise.
Molong Town Centre received $1 million of federal funding through the Building Better Regions Fund in October 2021.
