sala4D was commissioned in March 2022 to prepare masterplans for: Yass Mainstreet; Bookham Village and Wee Jasper Village. The Masterplan packages include photomontages, prioritised schedule of works and cost estimates to guide the upgrade and management of the main street and villages over the next ten years.
Working with the Yass Project Advisory Committee and community to develop the vision, ‘To transform the Main Street to be a place where locals love to be and where visitors wish to stay - where the history and beauty of Yass are shared with pride,’ our community lead design process including workshops, presentations and pop-up events. These resulted in a deep understanding of the values held by the community.
To develop the town-wide masterplans for Bookham and Wee Jasper, workshops were held with the Community Associations and wider community. Both of these villages are unique and very different, so it was important that the plans and schedule of works addressed specific community needs to allow these villages to prosper and remain sustainable in years to come.
The plans were placed on public exhibition in August 2022 and are being finalised for adoption by council.
