A landscape masterplan design statement for the Stronger Country Community Fund grant submission was prepared with Cumnock and Districts Progress Association in conjunction with Cumnock Little Athletics.
Cumnock’s precinct vision came about through the close working relationship of the various sporting groups and stakeholders, all with a mutual desire for Cumnock to sustain existing and attract future sporting events.
Community and stakeholder consultation was a key driver in the proposals to ensure community needs, inclusivity and accessibility was provided and prioritised with a detailed costing and phasing program.
The design principles which underpin the landscape masterplan were: to create a regional multi-purpose sporting facility; make Cumnock a place where people want to be and break their journeys; provide cohesive active and passive activities that appeal to all age groups; establish a tree planting strategy; as well as design robust, durable landscape infrastructure and elements that can be easily maintained.
The project received full grant funding in September 2018 and is currently under construction. We have an ongoing project management role.
