sala4D was commissioned to develop a masterplan and prepare tender documentation for the extensive landscape areas of Elouera, Women’s Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Facility.
The facility is set within an established garden, with many mature trees and seasonal bulb displays, with lovely views over the Orange countryside. A key opportunity of the masterplan was to celebrate this secret garden feel whilst enabling residents greater access to be outside, and to experience the connections beyond.
sala4D managed the Stage 1 installation of landscape works; the first of three stages to be implemented. These works included: circuit pathways (with some designed to accessible standards); seating platforms (located to maximise views); a meeting place nestled into the hillside; communal garden with vegetable beds, potting shed and orchard; and re-aligned fences to assist with garden and paddock maintenance and management.
Since the implementation of Stage 1, staff have commented that residents now use the garden more regularly, particularly for exercise along the circuit paths.
