As part of improving the water quality of the closed water system within the botanic gardens and accessibility over the watercourse, a weir was constructed and built by Orange City Council.
The project has been highly successful as it allows for better circulation throughout the gardens with key views and vistas offered.
The weir forms an important part of the setting of the botanic gardens and the rock cascade allows people to interact and conncect with the water in a sensory way.
